Attention Melbourne High School Band:
To any students grades 5 and up who are interested in being in band:
I want to let you know about a great opportunity coming up next week.
We are having a beginning band mini-camp in the high school band room July 26 and 27. This time will give students an opportunity to try out the various instruments and participate in some activities to determine the instrument that best fits their needs/abilities. This will give us a head start in assigning instruments at the beginning of the year. Instruments to be selected from include the flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet, trombone, tuba, and percussion (drums and bells/xylophone).
With our schedule this year, even students who are in athletics will have the opportunity to be in band as well. So if you're interested, let us know. Both days will start at 9:00 a.m. and end at 11:30 a.m. Not being able to attend this time will not prevent a student from participating in band. I will need a count on the number of students who plan to be here.
