The Melbourne High School boys and girls golf teams qualified for the state golf tournament last week at the District tournament held at Turkey Mountain. The breeze was stiff but the top-ranked Melbourne boys won the team title by 66 strokes. Ethan Seay was medalist after a playoff with teammate Caden Griffin. The boys had four of the top five individual scores.
Sophie Love was the medalist for the girls who took home second in the tournament. The Lady Bearkatz will compete for the state championship on Monday, September 27, 2021 at Turkey Mountain.
