Dyslexia Program

During the 2017-2018 school year Melbourne Elementary School used the science-based Connections OG in 3D Dyslexia Intervention Program developed by The APPLE Group in small group intervention to address the deficit areas of students identified as exhibiting the characteristics of dyslexia.

During the 2017-2018 school year Melbourne High School used the science-based Barton Reading and Spelling System developed by Susan Barton in small group intervention to address the deficit areas of students identified as exhibiting the characteristics of dyslexia.

Number of Students Who Received Dyslexia Intervention

During the 2017-2018 school year 23 students attending Melbourne Elementary School received dyslexia intervention services from a trained dyslexia interventionist either during school hours or as after school tutoring.

During the 2017-2018 school year 3 students attending Melbourne High School received dyslexia intervention services from a trained dyslexia interventionist either during school hours or as after school tutoring.

Total Number of Students Identified as Exhibiting the Characteristics of Dyslexia

During the 2017-2018 school year 24 students attending Melbourne Elementary School were identified as exhibiting the characteristics of dyslexia.

During the 2017-2018 school year 4 students attending Melbourne High School were identified as exhibiting the characteristics of dyslexia.
